Clemson Call Me Doctor

Here is a new scholarship opportunity for students interested in biomedical-related fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at Clemson. The Clemson Call Me Doctor© - ESTEEMED (CMD Enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Educational Diversity) Scholars Program, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is committed to nurturing the talents of underrepresented undergraduate scholars, propelling them towards a future of scholarly and scientific distinction. The program is designed to increase the participation of underrepresented students in obtaining a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. and pursuing careers integrating engineering and the physical sciences with medicine and biology through early immersion in biomedical research and mentoring.

The CMD ESTEEMED Scholars Program offers an immersive and supportive research and training opportunity that commences in the summer before a student's first year and unfolds over the subsequent two academic years at Clemson University. The program's comprehensive structure is designed to provide participants with unparalleled support, encompassing academic enrichment, financial assistance, faculty and peer mentoring, and hands-on engagement in Clemson’s biomedical research laboratories.

Our scholars encounter an enriching academic experience, intertwining rigorous research exploration with mentorship and community building. The scholars are paired with distinguished mentors, both faculty and peers, and they delve into advanced research projects that stimulate critical thinking, creativity, and scientific innovation.
